                  Basic idea about Blogging 

Are you thinking or planning writing a blog? Then before starting you should know what is “blog “? and what are the benefits of writing blogs? and how to write a blog? before starting you should have basic idea about blogging. This is also a part of Digital marketing. If you have decided to write a blog then you have also decided about your topics of writing your blogs. People writing blogs for many reasons. 

However, for writing a Blog, no such technical experience necessary – as a matter of fact, it’s much easier and faster than you think! , but before starting you should know few details about Blog. The basic idea of blogging help you to understand Why to start a blogging , How to start a blogging. 

I have started writing my blog in the year 2018 and after a lot of mistakes I have learnt writing a blog and still I am learning. So I though I should share blogging basics to minimize your mistakes.

What is a Blog? Blog is nothing but an informational online article or online website which present the content in reverse chronological order, like newer content will appear first. It’s a website where internal content often referred to as Blog Post like " AI Platform to earn Money "  

Blogs can run by anyone, like any individual for personal blogging or a small group of people to present information in an informal style. Presently business houses also using the blog for their valued clients to provide a lot of information and thought-leadership style content. 

Business houses focusing on the blog because they update their latest content regularly, the same cannot possible in company traditional website. New information gets updated regularly in a blog website by the owner. Updates are normally consisting of a collection of blog post. 

                                                    

Blog Post 

These posts can be short, informal or professional. Blogs need to be updated regularly as a consistent basis. As I expressed earlier that its different from the traditional website. 

Blog owner updates their blog daily, weekly, or monthly, publishing new content on the blog regularly, because to engage the readers. However in traditional site owner updating content time to time, keeping the same contain longer duration. 

Blogs content having the option for readers to comment or ask questions on a specific post, which does not have in a traditional website. Traditional website page provides information for the visitor and encourages them to take a specific action only. Blogs always engage the readers with blog post.

Blog started Since the mid-90s, Initially, it was a like a diary, its grew from online diaries and journals slowly. Personal web pages were created by internet user from that time, they used to publish their content and maintain regular update about their thoughts, personal lives etc. 

That time it is used to called WEBLOG, afterwards this was converted as Blog. Later on, seeing the popularity and growing nature of such web pages, multiple different types of tools introduced for the user benefits to create online journals and blogs, helps better blogging for all level of peoples. 

“ Blogger.com “ launched in 1999 which was acquired by Google in the year of 2003, “ WordPress “ released its first version as a blogging platform in the same year, both the platform got popularity.

Why to start a blog? 

Different reasons are there to start a blog. You can start a blog may be for personal reason as a passion for writing, or can start a blog for business reason, business blogging. 

Doing blogging for business, projects, or anything else can generate money, for that you to rank your website higher in Google SERPs, a.k.a. increase your visibility. Business blogging helps you get to your consumers and grab their attention on your products through your blog. 

Traditional business website will remain invisible, whereas running a blog makes you searchable and competitive. Purpose of a blog is to connect to the relevant viewers and also to boost your traffic and send quality leads to your website.

If your blogs are frequent with better content, higher will be the chances for your website to get discovered and visited by your target audience and the blog will be an effective lead generation tool. It will convert your website traffic into a high-quality lead and will help you to build a brand. 

Top brands and businesses houses create their blogs to inform their customers about the products, share the organisation’s news, and reach a wider audience. Blogging is a vital part of online marketing strategy for many businesses.

Initially, you should start with a free blogging platform and once you understand the blogging and maintain regularity then you can go for paid version in the same blogging platform.

You can use “Blogger” ” google platform, or “WordPress.com ” as a blogging platform, which basic version is free, user friendly and easy to configure among other platforms like:

• Medium,
• Squarespace,
• Wix,
• Ghost.

                            WordPress.com

WordPress.com platform, offers a basic blog hosting service. WordPress.com is also a free blog hosting service offered by Automatic, a company created by WordPress.org cofounders Matt Mullenweg. 

However, you can purchase additional choices like a custom domain name, additional storage, and other premium services. WordPress started in 2005 with keeping a goal to accrue a larger audience with WordPress experience. 

WordPress.com is a good user-friendly blogging site for users who may not be comfortable with advance feature of self-hosting. As a benefit, it does not require any setup, Easy to manage and use, Its free with its subdomain and you can have a free website.  

However it is very limited option to extend your site, Customs themes and plugins require additional cost it is not free, You can not advertise however WordPress will give their ads on your website without any money to you. WordPress.com can suspend your account if they find any violation as per their terms of service and you don’t own your blog.

The basic account is free, but it will have WordPress own ads and branding. You can upgrade to their plan with additional cost to remove the WordPress logo and advertising from your website. You can also get a custom domain like www.abcsite.com. You can start with the free account and afterwards you can upgrade with paid version.

                                           Blogger

Blogger, Google’s blogging platform. It is a free blogging service by Google. It helps you a quick and easy way to create a blog for anyone. Blogger is one of the oldest blogging platforms since being. It was first launched by Pyra Labs in 1999, and Google acquired Blogger later in 2003 and reshaped, which we are seeing today. This blogging platform is from google blogger platform. You need to open a google account to start a free blog on Blogger platform. 

You can use your existing Google account for your blog, linking your Google account, will help you log in through that account. Also, Blogger links with Google’s provide countless other tools, including AdSense, Google Analytics, and many more. 

This free platform includes several design templates and also flawlessly publishes to Google+  and there are free apps which you use for your post and edit through iPhone and Android devices.

As a benefit, 1st of all it is free and easy It’s easy to use and manage without any technical skills, this has added advantage of Google’s robust secure platform and reliability.

What are the limitations?  Its limited tools with basic blogging only and can’t add new features as your blog grows in popularity. Design options are limited, with fewer templates available. Third-party templates for Blogger are often low quality. Blogger does not have frequent updates or new features.

Blogger is free with a Blogger subdomain, If you want to use a custom domain, you need to buy a domain from Google or third party. You can also upgrade your blog with paid version. 

There are many blogging platforms available, however my choice is

Blogger and the WordPress platform. If you want to start blogging the I will suggest starting with anyone of this platform, however initially Blogger will be more easier for beginners.

So, before starting, choose the proper platform as per your suitability. Most of the beginners make a common mistake with choosing a wrong blogging platform to start a blog, hope now you will not be making this mistake. I prefer to use WordPress. It is the world’s most popular blogging platform and website builder.
